'Christ in the etheric' refers to what was also described as 'the Second Coming', and the appearance of Christ to humanity not in physical incarnate form, but in the etheric, from the 20th century onwards. Christian theology sometimes uses the greek term Parousia for this Second Coming.
The etheric template is the template for the etheric body, which then forms the grid structure (structured energy field) upon which the physical body grows.
