4 gru 2023 · Erythema nodosum, which typically presents as inflammatory, tender nodules on the lower legs, is the most common nonspecific cutaneous lesion of sarcoidosis. In one study of 516 patients with sarcoidosis, erythema nodosum was present in 20 percent of all patients and in 62 percent of patients with cutaneous disease .
For some people, sarcoidosis begins with a tender-feeling rash called erythema nodosum. The rash usually develops on the shins, but it can appear elsewhere. Seeing this rash isn’t a sure sign that you have sarcoidosis. Other diseases can cause this rash.
Sarcoidosis is a multisystem disease characterised by granulomas in various organs. Treatment of cutaneous sarcoidosis may involve NSAIDs or glucocorticoids. However, erythema nodosum, the common cutaneous lesion, is usually self-limiting.
29 lip 2020 · Usually, acute bouts of erythema nodosum are associated with a fever of 38–39°C, fatigue, malaise, arthralgia, headache, abdominal pain, vomiting, cough, or diarrhea. Episcleral lesions and phlyctenular conjunctivitis may also accompany the cutaneous lesions.
CASE REPORT. A nondiabetic 29-year-old woman with sickle cell trait, asthma, and sarcoidosis presented with a 1-year duration of dark brown, lightly scaly nodules on the bilateral lower legs. She was diagnosed with sarcoidosis before 3 years based on the presentation of hilar lymphadenopathy, anterior uveitis, and EN lesions.
