This MATLAB function returns the Error Function evaluated for each element of x.
Calling erf for a number that is not a symbolic object invokes the MATLAB ® erf function. This function accepts real arguments only.
1. Given a min and max value as well as the N number of items, I need to calculate the probability that the total sum of N items will be greater than or equal to an inputted value LM. The function handle: function Pr = LoadPr(Wmin,Wmax,N,LM) Another function: function [muL, sigmaL, L ] = plane(Wmin,Wmax,N,M)
23 sie 2017 · Although MATLAB standard functions erf and erfc only work with real inputs, there is the MATLAB implementation of erfc(z) z Complex, by S. Abrarov, available here
You can use a Taylor polynomial of sufficient degree to guarantee the accuracy that you need. (The Taylor series for erf(x) is given on the Wikipedia page to which you linked.) The Lagrange Remainder term can be used to bound the error in the Taylor series approximation.
Description. Y = erf (X) returns the value of the error function for each element of real array X. Y = erfc (X) computes the value of the complementary error function. Y = erfcx (X) computes the value of the scaled complementary error function.
