Vials cost 10 sp, so the extra 1 sp is basically just a convenience charge. Honey Vials cost 1 gp and sewing needles cost 5 sp, at least in both D&D 3.5 and Pathfinder. I'm not sure about 5E.

To determine the price of spell levels, I came up with a base cost of 30 gp - this would be the cost of a spell scroll for a cantrip (plus some rarity tax and attunement tax, but see Part 1 for information on that). That base cost is then multiplied by the sum of each spell level + 1.

I applied a formula to the "Sane" price guide that has floated around for years to try and fit it a bit better to prices people would expect, tweaked major outliers, and then extrapolated prices for items that have released since the DMG.
