3 lip 2021 · Anyone here have experience comparing EMG's JV52-HZ, JV-HZ, and JHZ pickups? EMG's website descriptions for these different pickups are almost identical. I found YouTube videos demo'ing the JV52-HZ, but not the JV-HZ or JHZ.
The JHZ Set offers passive bass tone and feel with the reliability and frequency range known to EMG. Our design uses stacked coils with ceramic and steel bar magnets for a traditional jazz bass sound with increased output, and low noise.
I tried replacing the stock pickups on my Washburn 5-string with the DiMarzio Area J5 set because I thought I wanted a more "vintage" sound. (The stock pickups look similar to EMGs with sealed covers and no visible pole pieces)
EMG HZ H1 are some of the best sounding pickups I ever had (and I swapped many, I recently sold a Gibson Burstbucker Pro bridge, because it was thin, brittle and overall crappy af, couldn't dial a good tone no matter what.)
