A vitrification media for horse embryos is commercially available, and acceptable pregnancy rates varying from 40%–60% have been reported. Successful cryopreservation of expanded equine blastocysts also has been reported for embryos that had their blastoceles collapsed after embryo biopsy procedures (see video of embryo collapsing procedure).
