Students will be able to: Find and identify different textures in their home. Identify the lines, marks, or shapes that make up each texture. Apply their knowledge of how to use a pencil to create different types of marks and lines and draw eight different visual textures.
Texture doesn’t have to be complicated. Little ones can explore texture by using a fork to create lines in their paintings. This activity uses a painterly Van Gogh style for art history inspiration. Kids create rough or smooth textural lines using just a fork.
