You will work for electrical contractors during the day and attend school for 2, 3-hour evening classes a week during the school year. In it, you will be trained to become a Journeyman Wireman. In brief, our job is any electrical installation that comes "after the utility pole".
The 5-year inside wireman apprenticeship develops expert electricians skilled in power distribution, lighting, controls, and general electrical work. Apprentices split training between 900 hours of classroom instruction and 8,000 hours of supervised on-the-job experience.
