The El Sobrante Landfill is designed to dispose of non-hazardous solid wastes. All disposal areas are constructed with a composite liner system and leachate collection system. The leachate collection system gathers wastewater that is generated by the overlying municipal solid waste.
This landfill is opened on the following hours: Monday: 6am-6pm; Tuesday: 6am-6pm; Wednesday: 6am-6pm; Thursday: 6am-6pm; Friday: 6am-6pm; Saturday: 6am-6pm; Sunday: closed; The landfill is closed on all US federal holidays. The dumps on the landfill are regulated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the applicable state laws.
