10 lis 2024 · The legend of the Edmund Fitzgerald remains the most mysterious and controversial of all shipwreck tales heard around the Great Lakes. Her story is surpassed in books, film and media only by that of the Titanic.
The museum exhibits artifacts from shipwrecks from the Whitefish Point Underwater Preserve and the bell from the wreck of the SS Edmund Fitzgerald. [3] [4] Admission to the museum includes a tour of historic buildings with displays that interpret the Great Lakes maritime, United States Coast Guard, and US Life-Saving Service history.

The 16,000-square-foot (1,500 m 2) museum features exhibits such as one of the largest collections of model ships in the world, and the bow anchor of the SS Edmund Fitzgerald, which went down in a storm in 1975.
The bell of the famous steamer Edmund Fitzgerald is also on display and serves as a memorial to her crew in the Shipwreck Museum Gallery. The museum is open every day, May 1 to October 31, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
