  3. 28 lip 2007 · The Edge III is a low-end tremolo, therefore it is prone to wear more quickly, and will probably need to be replaced at some point in the future.. The Edge Pro is a top of the line tremolo, and should never need replacing, if it's fore bearers (the Original Edge and LoPro Edge) are any indication.

  4. Reply. Mark_McQ. •. They don't have hardened knife edges, so they wear over time. Mine is about 4-5 years old and has some wear on it. I briefly replaced it with a Gotoh Floyd and it was a HUGE improvement. Had to put the Edge3 back on as I needed cash, so sold the Gotoh, but plan on putting another on in the future.

  5. 26 kwi 2013 · They make you buy a new edge 3 for around 400 bucks. I'd stay away from Edge trems as much as you can simply because ibanez has shown a steady track record of dropping support for the older models and sticking you with huge bills to replace them.

  7. 20 lip 2009 · @dusty: If you get the guitar with the edge 3 don't rush to go buy a different trem, set the thing up and use it like you normally would. As I said before if you take care of it it'll last a long time.
