We have been with EDF for many years, including the last 5 years on fixed EV tariffs and have never had any problems in the past, changing tariffs as they expired. Regrettably this time we did, which eventually led us needing to raise a complaint.
Terrible Customer Service: Reaching customer service is a nightmare. While writing this review, I’ve been on hold for 40 minutes. After 10 minutes of waiting, the call connects only to be immediately cut off. This happened multiple times.
EDF common complaints. In our customer survey, 4% of respondents said they contacted EDF to make a complaint in the past year. Of the customers who made a complaint to EDF, the highest proportion (26%) complained about an incorrect bill or statement. Almost as many (24%) had a problem with their smart meter not working properly.
When it comes to complaints, EDF received the most complaints of all the suppliers in our survey. It received 2,562 complaints per 100,000 customer accounts, according to the most recent data published by the energy regulator Ofgem – well above the industry average of 1,578.
