Suffix -ed. After suffix -es, I teach suffix -ed and -ing after teaching consonant blends. (For my full sequence, click here.) The suffix -ed is fun to teach because it has three pronunciations: /d/, /t/, and /id/. It is helpful to explicitly point this out to our students.
