The Echo Base is an analog-voiced delay with modulation, designed by Ian Maltby. It uses a PT2399 delay chip to create a sound similar to an analog delay, but not as noisy and without the hassle of building a real analog delay. The modulation allows you to wobble the pitch of the delay around.
The Echo Base is a handmade analogue-voiced digital delay based around the popular PT2399 delay chip, it can be easily coaxed into a very Deluxe Memory Manesque self oscillation, give you delays of over a second, and has a modulation section for you add some subtle tape-echo style warble to your delays, or even to get Chorus and Vibrato sounds ...
27 sie 2007 · 1. It's got an LFO that modulates the delay time for chorus/vibe/tape flutter effects, a bit like a DMM. 2. Shock horror, it's not true bypass, that's because.... 3. It can do delay tails, where you bypass it and the delays die away instead of being cut off instantly. Here's the schematic.
On top of the Taptation tap tempo kit from diystompboxes, I added effects loop, dry output, expression pedal, and a bunch of switches for various mods. I'm usually not a big fan of delay modulation, but the Echo Base's modulation sounds great.
29 paź 2024 · Here's something I've been working on for a while, it's a PT2399 based delay called Echo Base. It started out with some ideas for mods for a Rebote, but after playing around for a while I thought I might as well start from scratch and design something new.
Modulated delay pedal with footswitch for modulation and tails switch. Designed for use with low output or single coil pickups. NOT TRUE BYPASS, it uses a Boss-style bypass and 9v power.
The PT2399 Echo IC was designed to mimic old-school analog BBD delay with modern digital sampling technology. Repeats degrade at higher delay lengths, resulting is a very natural well-filtered reproduction of your synth/guitar tone.
