Abstract. The June 10 southeastern Illinois earthquake was the 11th largest earthquake felt in the central U.S. during this century. Source parameters of the main shock were estimated from an analysis of surface-wave amplitude spectra.
The earthquake data shown on this map and listed in table 1 are a list of earthquakes that were originally used in preparing the Seismic Risk Studies in the United States (Algermissen, 1969) which have been recompiled and updated through 1977.
Decoding Earthquakes In Illinois History: Revealing the Captivating Potential of Verbal Expression In an era characterized by interconnectedness and an insatiable thirst for knowledge, the captivating potential of verbal
The 10 June 1987 southeastern Illinois earthquake (mbLg = 5.2) was the seventh in a series of moderate magnitude (≧ 4.5) MMI VII shocks to occur in the Wabash Valley seismic zone of southeastern Illinois and southwestern Indiana since 1891.
We use estimates in Table 1, and the M and locations for CUS earthquakes estimated elsewhere, to compile a catalog of significant historical CUS earthquakes (Table 2 and Figure 2).
