The Grundoburst static pipe bursting system is an extremely versatile piece of trenchless equipment. There are eight models available ranging in pullback force from 60,000 lbs. to 650,000 lbs. Grundoburst models are designed for bursting 4-inch (101-mm) through 48-inch (1,219-mm) pipes and larger.
Pipe bursting is a trenchless replacement method in which an existing pipe is broken either by brittle fracture or by splitting, using an internal, mechanically applied force by a bursting tool. At the same time, a new pipe of the same or larger diameter is pulled in, replacing the existing pipe.
