24 sty 2023 · I finally had to force a restart and manually eject the disc while rebooting. After signing back on DVD Player's icon is showing up in the Dock and the app is in the CoreApplications folder, whereas before it was nowhere to be found. Based on this strange behavior, backing up and reinstalling the OS seems reasonable.
