With the best spell list, a functionally infinite list of spells known, and a dizzying number of build options, Wizards can do basically anything in the game, and can often do so better than classes which are specifically built to do it.
A wizard who liked monkeys enough to have one as a familiar, and to keep cats, and to have grown powerful enough to need servants - so that wizard combined their favorite things into a race of slaves.
List of Races with a Basic Description. This is a list with most of the no or low level adjustment races that are often used for wizards. Humans PHB: Bonus feat, skill points and any favored class. As with everything else, humans make for very good wizards.
