Digoxin toxicity is characterised by gastrointestinal distress, hyperkalemia and life-threatening dysryhthmias, including increased automaticity and AV nodal blockade. Digoxin has a narrow therapeutic index and chronic toxicity is more likely in the elderly and those with renal impairment.

8 paź 2024 · The ECG features of digoxin effect are seen with therapeutic doses of digoxin and are due to: Shortening of the atrial and ventricular refractory periods — producing a short QT interval with secondary repolarisation abnormalities affecting the ST segments, T waves and U waves.
