I'd love to find something similar. Brigadier is the closest I've found and has described itself as inspired by Desert Strike and the Crusader games. It is very good in terms of having lots of weapons and vehicles and fun combat, but it doesn't have the complicated mission objectives or route planning element. 7.
Pretty sure there was 4. Desert, Jungle, Urban, and Nuclear. I remember being Meh about Urban Strike. Desert was great but only 4 levels. Jungle was pretty much the best one.
