26 gru 2020 · I am having what seems like a similar problem: low battery life on an XPS 17, 9700, 4K screen, i7-10875H processor, RTX 2060. I ran a test last night: airplane mode, screen on dimmest setting, no sound, power mode set to "battery saver," closed all the background apps.
XPS 17 9710 Battery Life Issue. Received my XPS 17 a few days ago. Specs: i9, 16gb, 1tb ssd, RTX 3060, 1080p screen. On battery saver, minimum brightness, and no programs running, I was given an estimate of 4 hours of battery life, which I confirmed, coming back 3 hours later to about 25% remaining.
30 sty 2023 · Disconnect the battery connected to the laptop. Discharge the capacitors on the laptop. Plug the charger directly into a wall outlet and connect the charger to your laptop. If the XPS turns on, the problem is likely with the batteries, and replacing it would be the best course of action.
When I boot my laptop plugged in, my battery drains even while idling (~0% CPU usage). The AC adapter is recognized and system tray says "x% available, plugged in", but it doesn't charge.
But then I started using it and... the battery life was horrendous. Like 4 hours while idle or with one Chrome page open with the screen on 20% brightness. While it was updating Windows it fell from 18% to 5% in ONE MINUTE.
