1 wrz 2008 · This paper describes the research methodology, the structure of the dwell time model, the data collection system and presents a summary of results including statistical distribution and influence factors of sub-process times.
Dwell time is understood as the period during which. a vehicle is immobilised at a station. It is composed of three components: the door manoeuvre time (door opening and closing) and vehicle departure, the passenger flow time, and the time the doors remain open without passenger flow (TRB, 1999).
In this study, we attempted to use dwell time on content pages as a predictor of document usefulness, and evaluated the prediction performance in different types of tasks. A user study was conducted to address this research problem.
A significant amount of scientific work focussing on the estimation of dwell time within different transit systems can be found in literature. However, it is mostly focused on aspects such as, for example, the time required for each passenger to board depending on the number of steps, while in very few reports
Based on passenger and dwell time data of a railway station in Zurich observed by the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB), this study focuses on factors influencing stopping time at stations. In addition, a model to estimate passenger dwell time is developed from own counts and measurements.
A crucial factor in the task of timetabling entails evaluating dwell times at stations. The innovative feature of this paper is the analytical definition of dwell times as flow-dependent.
