14 gru 2019 · Scenario 1: Just as you describe, you attack (hitting doesnt matter, just so long as you made the attack) and take no damage, Rage is maintained. Scenario 2: Barbarian uses turn to pour a healing potion into an ally's mouth (no attack), gets attacked & dealt damage by an enemy.
Rage. In battle, you fight with primal ferocity. On your turn, you can enter a rage as a bonus action. While raging, you gain the following benefits if you aren't wearing heavy armor: • You have advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws. • When you make a melee weapon attack using Strength, you gain a +2 bonus to the damage roll.
A Raging Blood Hawk (what a great mascot name!) could use its beak as a Strength-based attack, with an attack bonus of +0 and a damage bonus of -2, and then add Rage Damage. More generally, if your Strength modifier matches the published damage bonus, the attack is Strength-based.
Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you can go into a frenzy when you rage. If you do so, for the duration of your rage you can make a single melee weapon attack as a bonus action on each of your turns after this one. When your rage ends, you suffer one level of exhaustion.
