25 cze 2014 · My current rig only has 8GB of DDR3 1333 and the capacity isn't cutting it so I am looking to upgrade it. During the upgrade I was looking at changing to 1866 since my UD5 will support it in Slots 3 & 4. There are some different speeds and latencies listed below, I never was clear on the best way to have RAM...speed vs latency etc.
16 lis 2011 · 1) RAM is rated for a maximum tested speed, with a given timing. You could purchase a batch of RAM rated at 1600, but puch it up to 2133. The manufacturer does not guarantee this though. 2) Yes, 1600 pushed to 2133 will be looser timings compared to a 2133 stick you buy with the same initial timings as the 1600.
23 wrz 2012 · Memory is so cheap now the difference between 1333 and 1600 is like $5. Just get 1600 ram

25 maj 2010 · 4gb is no longer the optimal capacity. RAM prices are going up component-wise. 4gb of DDR3 1600 was down to about 95-100 dollars at one point, but now the price has gone up $10-15.
