The VK 30.01 (D) and VK 30.02 (D), also known as VK.3001 (DB) were two tank designs made by Daimler Benz submitted for the VK 30 project for a 30 tonne tank to be used by the German army.
The Panther tank, officially Panzerkampfwagen V Panther (abbreviated Pz.Kpfw. V) with ordnance inventory designation: Sd.Kfz. 171, is a German medium tank of World War II. It was used in most European theatres of World War II from mid-1943 to the end of the war in May 1945.
31 mar 2020 · Illustration of the Daimler-Benz Design by Andrei Kirushkin. Daimler-Benz’s VK30 design was a much closer copy of the T-34 than M.A.N.’s design. It retained the all-round sloping armor, forward mounted turret, and rear-mounted transmission – a feature uncommon in German tanks.
Daimler-Benz finished 1004 Panther Ausf.G tanks between May 1944 and April 1945. There were some minor differences between factory built tanks. M.N.H. fitted a cast steel Gleitschuh skid shoes instead of a rubber tire return roller behind the front track drive sprocket.
8 wrz 2018 · As its main weapon the Panther used a 75-mm KwK 42 tank gun with a barrel length of 70 calibers. Modifications A and D carried 79 rounds of ammunition, and modification G carried 82 rounds, which included subcaliber (Pzgr. 40/42), armor-piercing (Pzgr. 39/42) and high-explosive shells (Sprg. 42).
On the eastern front the German crew with tanks Panther III and IV encountered tanks KW-1 and T-34, which were exceeding German armored vehicles in terms of armor and weapons. Originally was idea to copy T-34 tank, which was ultimately rejected.
