Are you asking about Werewolf or One Night Ultimate Werewolf (and other One Night versions)? Werewolf doesn't require an app. The One Night games (Werewolf, Vampire, Alien, etc.) require an app, but the app is free. You just pay for the physical game.
The closest you're going to get to having a fair and balanced version of a playable Lycanthrope, is to combine the Shifter race from Eberron, with the Blood Hunter: Order of the Lycan. That will give you a very Werewolf feeling character, without being vastly overpowered if you just tacked on the racial template.

Werewolf PC. DMing. My totally not edgy player wants to play a werewolf in our next campaign. I couldn’t find any guides except a completely broken one on dnd wiki. Has anyone else had a werewolf pc before? And how did you balance/handle it. I don’t want a save or lose control because that would be a lot of down time if he fails at early levels.
