The gem cutting calculator is a calculator using current exchange prices which shows you how much money you will lose or gain by successfully cutting one of each gem type assuming you buy and sell the gems using the grand exchange.
This calculator is for calculating your profit and exp gain if you buy uncut gems from GE market price, cut them, and then resold them.
Using the Crafting skill, uncut gems can be cut with a chisel or Dwarven army axe, combined with precious metals to make jewellery, and then enchanted using the Magic skill. Gems can also be cut into gem bolt tips.

The Capes provide unlimited thread and removes the need for thread while crafting items made of leather. It also provides a 0.75% chance of cutting all the gems of one type in the players inventory in one action.
