there seem to be a lot of fixes and various workarounds for getting crysis to run on windows 10. Well, I have it running on the Windows 10 2020 october update (19042.508) and my solution is perhaps the simplest of all. best pat is, that it uses all original files, no tampering or chicanery needed.

25 cze 2016 · No need to install shady programs, patches or cracks, or create bat scripts. You can start Crysis through Steam, all it takes is one simple command. I assume the launch problems happen only on 64-bit machines, but let me know if you're having problems on 32-bit Windows. To start, open your Crysis Launch Properties. Done!
11 lis 2017 · Try this: Use a shortcut to the 64-bit exe (which is steamapps\common\Crysis\bin64\Crysis.exe, not Crysis64.exe), create a file called autoexec.cfg in steamapps\common\Crysis and enter the following lines in it:
Tested on Windows 10 with Nvidia GPU and Intel CPU; 32-bit version launches fine out-of-the-box, but 64-bit version has this crash to desktop issue that can thus be fixed with Windows 8 compatibility mode.

24 cze 2014 · Run the crysis.exe file in the newly added folder (Bin64) to play the game. (Optional) Create a shortcut of the EXE for the Desktop for easier access. For the Steam version, there is a way to make the Steam client launch the 64-bit version by default.
