I'm planning to purchase 1,100 sq. ft. of vinyl plank to float over a beat up engineered wood floor. I'm confused by the many different brands and their claims. I know I want to go with a stone plastic composite (SPC) plank with at least a 20 mil wear layer and an attached pad.
We're in the early stages of selecting a LVP and two brands we are considering are TruCore and LUX. The installation will be over concrete and LUX recommends a vapor barrier which adds about $800 to the total price. The LUX product is 22mm vs 20mm for the TruCore. Both have a 6.5mm top layer with an attached pad.
