As far as weight loss goes, I recommend researching the topic a bit more. Weight loss doesnt come from cardio. Weight loss comes from being in a caloric deficit (Calories eaten in a day < amount of calories needed to maintain typical body composition).
I've started stationary rowing for weight loss with the tornado fit hurricane. My planned routine is 6 days a week 25 minutes. So far i've been doing 500 rows in 25 mins, 7.1km. I think that's around 22 rows per minute. Haven't really seen much effect yet after a week and a half, maybe lost a pound.
There's a minimum weight that coxswains must be. For women, (someone correct me if I'm wrong) that weight is right around 120. Losing much more than 4 pounds would be pointless as you'll need to carry sandbags. The minimum coxswain weight prevents your exact concern.
