4 mar 2023 · I received a call from someone posing as Comcast asking to help update my router. They were trying to gain access my computer by having me install ultraviewer so they could connect remotely. Watch out for this scam!
7 wrz 2021 · The guy claimed he was calling from xfinity and wanted to know how my modem was working. Said that the updates that were sent to it didn't work and asked me about the lights and what was blinking on my modem. He also asked if i was having problems with my internet service (I'm not). He wanted me to connect my computer to their website. I hung up.
Today I received a call from someone claiming to be an Xfinity engineer. Said my modem was older, and that they were having trouble accessing it remotely, and needed my help getting access. I knew it was a scam (not the least reason being my modem is less than two months old), but I wanted to warn anyone else who gets a similar call.
You may be asked to sign in using your Xfinity ID and password first. Check multiple internet-capable devices to see if the problem is with one device or the entire network. Single device issues are often resolved by updating network settings or restarting your personal device.
22 lut 2023 · To fix this, factory reset the router by sticking a small pin into the back of the hole and holding it for like 7 seconds. After that, give it a bit of time and then go to your nighthawk app. The login will be "admin" for the username and "password" for the password.
6 lis 2023 · I received a call today about updating my router from someone identifying themselves as being from Comcast/Xfinity . They said that they had been trying to send security updates to my router that were not going through and asked if I had reset my router lately.
