3 lut 2004 · I'm proud to own my Cold Steel Gurkha Kukri in Carbon V. I'm willing to bet that, ounce per ounce, there isn't a superior production kukri if we're talking performance. This is for two reasons: the steels used and the handle.
It's awful to see this, but I don't trust cold steel and this post bolsters my mistrust. I have the Kabar kukri and have used it hard (piecing out trees for firewood) for two years and no issues yet. I would highly recommend it if you're looking for a new kukri.
13 lut 2009 · The Cold Steel Kukri machete was right at home chopping away on heavier items. It became clear that this Kukri would cut through even some of the harder woods. It did so with finesse. I was able to conduct more technical chopping with it than with other blades I’ve tested.
17 wrz 2024 · I believe the new ones are all made in China now with a different heat treat and quality. Does anything know if anyone still carries the South African ones in stock?
It's the royal kukri MACHETE. Model 97kmigs. Definitely not the full size royal kukri.
The Cold Steel Royal Kukri Machete has received mixed reviews from customers. While some have praised its effectiveness in cutting and chopping, others have criticized its dullness upon arrival and the quality of its handle.
Cons: None. Impressive blade begs to chop through something. I plan to use the Royal Kukri just like the Kukri Machete, which I also got - to clear brush along wooded trails. The heavy blade and excellent balance make it appear perfect for chopping through fallen saplings and small tree branches.
