With permanent and rotating exhibits highlighting the people, places and folklore of the Northeast Georgia region, the History Center displays a unique perspective on life in the Appalachia. The center is open from 9 am to 4 pm Tuesday through Saturday.
Welcome to Pine Lake! As the smallest city in Dekalb, Pine Lake is “micropolitan.” It’s a place where a voice, an effort, an idea, and individual involvement quickly become part of the natural flow of civic life.
City water, sewer, and gas lines were run, and more and more property owners began to live in the city all year round. Pine Lake today is an incorporated city in the middle of mostly unincorporated south Dekalb County. The city lies about 12 miles east of downtown Atlanta, just off Rockbridge Road.
