16 lut 2023 · Cho Dan Bo and the first dan (The 1st Degree Black Belt) The Cho Dan Bo rank, the first level of black belt in the Tang Soo Do system, also represents mastery of the basic techniques and readiness to begin advanced training, as does the first Dan rank, the second level of black belt.
Dark Blue represents maturity, respect and honor. Much has already been achieved and the student is (almost) at the ultimate goal of Tang Soo Do. The power and techniques is improved significantly. The Dark Blue Belt is awarded to the Cho Dan Bo of candidate for the Black Belt.
Tang Soo Do has 10 colour belts/student grades (10 th to 1 st Gup), 1 black belt candidate (Cho Dan Bo), 4 Dan grades (1 st – 4 th Dan), 2 Master Dan grades (4 th and 5 th Dan), 2 Senior Master grades (6 th and 7 th Dan) and 2 Grandmaster grades (8 th and 9 th Dan).
Orange Belt (Pahl Gup) & Orange Belt with Stripe (Chil Gup) Orange signifies Hope, Happiness, Expectation, and Challenge. It represents new growth which appears in Spring. Our Tang Soo Do knowledge begins to reveal itself.
Cho Dan Bo – Kandydat do Czarnego Pasa, pas pomiędzy 1 gup a 1 dan. Jest stopniem o szczególnej symbolice, oznacza osobę, która przygotowuje się do złożenia egzaminu na czarny pas (I dan). Czarny pas potwierdza wieloletnie doświadczenie, pracę, zaangażowanie i silny charakter zdeterminowany do walki ze swoimi słabościami.
Qualifications for 1st Dan (Black Belt) Candidiates must train a minimum of 72 classes (group or private), hold the Cho Dan Bo rank for a minimum period of six months and meet the minimum age requirements, and must also be recommended for testing by his/her instructor.
Gup levels consist of ten grades, plus Cho Dan Bo level: WHITE, 10th & 9th Gup. White is the color of purity and initiation. It represents a primitive stage of achievement such as the seed as it lies dormant beneath the snows of winter. ORANGE, 8th & 7th Gup. Orange signifies hope, happiness, expectation and challenge.
