They have several databases containing thousands of games that can be downloaded and easily merged into a single DB using a command window
Traditional PGN databases, like SCID or ChessBase, fail to open large PGN files. Until they fix it, you can split the PGN files , or use programmatic APIs such as python-chess or Scoutfish .

Download. If you want to use tablebases in a chess engine you certainly need a local copy. Most of the time (during search) only WDL tables are used. Keep these on SSD storage if you can. DTZ tables are generally only used to finish the final phase of the game ("at the root").
I am updating both databases: CORR and OTB with the latest games published to date, you can now go to the website and download them. In the OTB database you will see that the number of available games has been reduced by more than 1.5+- Million with respect to the last published version.
4 sie 2021 · When I got back into Chess a year or two back I couldn't find a decent free regularly updated database of Chess games. There are some good ones out there like Kingbase and Millionbase (not updated anymore).
