So, with the kit in-front of me, my tools ready, the Jack & coke poured and Christmas music playing in the background; a new build began. Upon opening the box, I realised something: I've owned many HPIs, but I've never, ever built a brand new HPI kit!

   Hobby grade RC's are built to last and most platforms are supported for years. I'd recommend Traxxas, Arrma, ECX, Axial, Team Associated, Kyosho, HPI, Tamiya, or Losi. If your budget can't reach into Traxxas XL-5, Arrma Granite Mega territory, some Redcat and WL Toys models get decent reviews here in this sub.
