2 kwi 2024 · So when trying to set up an IMAP account in the new Outlook, it 'guesses' the wrong SMTP settings. I tried to go into Settings > Accounts > then click 'Manage' on the related account but there's no options to edit the settings. Is the a different place I can make these these changes?
If you intend to change your email password, you must do that with your email provider (e.g., Microsoft 365, Gmail, Yahoo, iCloud, Xfinity, or a corp. Exchange server). Then you will need to update the password in Outlook.
If you want to use POP or IMAP to access your email in Outlook.com, you'll first need to enable access. Select Settings > Mail > Forwarding and IMAP.
8 maj 2024 · When you add a new mailbox in New Outlook, after you enter your mailbox name, there will be a “Show more” switch under the box of entering password, turn on the switch, you can modify the server settings of your mailbox.
6 gru 2021 · I checked my hotmail settings on the computer and under the sync email settings, I enabled POP and changed the server name to the following settings but it still doesn't work. Previous server names that was used for IMAP was imap-mail.outlook.com and SMTP was smtp-mail.outlook.com but these do not seem to work anymore.
Here are the Outlook SMTP settings: SMTP Server: smtp-mail.outlook.com; SMTP Port: 587; SMTP encryption: STARTTLS; SMTP Username: Your Outlook email address ([email protected]) SMTP Password: Your Microsoft Outlook password; You can use the same SMTP settings for your Microsoft, Hotmail, Live.com, or your MSN account.
