Patch for MacEFIRom's Mac Pro 2009-2010 Firmware Tool. This patch fixes previously broken firmware images downloads from Apple website. Reboot your Mac into Recovery Mode by restarting your computer and holding down Command+R until the Apple logo appears on your screen. Click Utilities > Terminal.
24 mar 2021 · To use the script, just download the latest release source zip and run ./Mac\ Pro\ 2009-2010\ Firmware\ Tool.sh from a terminal, you’ll be asked to upgrade/downgrade and it will download automatically the firmwares from apple.
9 paź 2011 · Has anyone tried the Mac Pro 2009-2010 firmware tool hack that is floating around out there? It seems to work with no problems. A cheap way to turn your 2009 quad core into a 2010 hexacore.
14 wrz 2016 · Download the Mac Pro Firmware update 1.5 (MacProEFIUpdate.dmg) from Apple: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1321. With the downloaded .dmg on the desktop, double click to mount the image. Run the Mac Pro 2009-2010 Firmware Tool.

With a firmware update, you can use newer CPUs and upgrade all the way to 10.14 Mojave with a supported graphics card. It is important to note that you will need a Mac EFI compatible GPU installed while performing the flash.
I used to upgrade tons of Mac Pro 2009’s to 5,1 with the Firmware Tool while booting from 10.10 with no issues. About 18 months ago, I tried it to find the 5530 error pop up. After researching then, I realized 10.10 was no longer supported and instead 10.11 was a requirement with SIP disabled.
