Has anyone had a Canine Companions dog here? They appear to serve almost everywhere in the US from the ADI. Honestly their the one I really want to get a dog from because they appear to be big - meaning they've given a lot of Service Dogs and are good at it, and have client stories too.
This is a community for real working dogs. These are jobs or tasks a dog is specifically trained to perform such as Guide Dog, Service Dog, Herding Dog, Police Dog, Sled Dog, etc. Silly/Fake jobs are NOT allowed in our sub. Read the full rules in the sidebar before posting.
My son is receiving a skilled companion service dog from CC in just a few weeks! (I will be the official facilitator as he is still young.) We are going to campus to be matched and trained in early May.
We took the dog for B&T, allowing her to finish her exams and then focus her attention entirely on working with her new companion and providing him an excellent life.
Has anyone in this subreddit received a dog from Canine Companions for Independence? If so, what has your experience been like? I want to make sure that this organization would be a good choice. CCI is a super good reputable program! They also give the dogs out at low to no cost so if you qualify I'd say definitely go for it!
