A lot of people have been making new steam accounts in order to play CS:GO for free, but steam has a lock that stops you from adding friends unless you buy something.
I have also met a few people who have played over ~500 hours in the free to play version and still have not purchased the game. Their experiences have been great, and if the game had not become free to play, then they may never have tried CS:GO.
Hello, i just want to confirm if it's possible for people to play together from different regions? I have friends in the US, Europe, Asia and South Africa. Is it possible if we all join up in Steam and play together? Also, is it possible for me, to play on a different regions server?

28 wrz 2023 · Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has been rebranded and re-released as Counter-Strike 2, and instead of being given its own store page, the game is now tucked away as a CS2 beta branch. This is how you can choose it and play CS:GO again.
New accounts can still get to Rank 2 and unlock competitive. It's just not a proper Rank unless they upgrade to Prime. Your friend can check their progress by hovering over the Competitive tab in the Play menu.
