2 mar 2020 · If you are younger than 18 years of age and want to apply for a license to drive in Ohio, you are required to enroll in a BMV-approved drivers education course beforehand. Additionally, you will need to pass a written permit test and a vision screening and hold a temporary permit for six months before you are eligible for a full driver’s license.
To apply for your Ohio Driver's License, you must: Be at least 16 years old and have held a learner's permit (Temporary Instruction Permit Identification Card) for at least 6 months. Complete 24 hours of classroom driver's education (satisfied by taking our online course).
