15 cze 2016 · If you want to load light gallery loads in the .45 Colt below 800 fps for cowboy shooting, the faster powders such as Bullseye, Red Dot, 700-X and WST give better results, about 5.5-6.0 grains as a start load.
Over the past 35 years all four of these leverguns have shot extensively with both jacketed and cast bullets. Marlin and Winchester 1894s will both handle heavier-than-standard .45 Colt loads but 1860, 1866 and 1873 replicas are for standard loads only! That is — black powder loads or Black powder level only.

31 gru 2020 · I have a late production USFA (all US parts) Pre-War 45 Colt with the black powder frame. The chamber mouths slug at .452" and the barrel slugs at .451". I load 20-1 .452" projectiles weighing 250g.

26 lis 2015 · The Speer Reloading Manual #14, has a warning about using their regular loads in a newer Ruger "New Vaquero", or Flat Top Blackhawk in 45 Colt. They make zillions of bullets, yet here in their own manual, they advise using 230 Gr. Desperado soft lead bullets made over in Dayton, WA.
5 gru 2019 · Using a 250-grain cast bullet, 37.5 grains by volume of Pyrodex P results in a very potent 987 fps and a five-shot, 50-foot group of 0.88 inch in my revolver. Dropping down to 30 grains results in an easier-shooting 835 fps and a group of 1.13 inches. The 45 Colt can be very accurate when the right handload is paired with a good gun.
