These swim classification tests are a foundational unit of the Aquatics Continuum. All persons participating in BSA aquatics are classified according to swimming ability.

Forms and Documents. The Participant Guides will be emailed to all registered crews, and remain available through the “Resources” tab of the Sea Base website. As changes occur, the guides are updated and date stamped accordingly on each cover page.

The swim classification test done at a unit level should be conducted by one of the following Council-approved resource people: Aquatics Instructor, BSA; Aquatics Supervisor; BSA Lifeguard; certified lifeguard; swimming
