22 sty 2015 · Hello again AudioKarma! This week, our music source at TARA Labs was in the form of a Bryston BCD-1. While fairly entry-level, this CD player definitely surpassed my expectations. The music was clean and transparent, with focused and engaging dynamics. However, I was a bit confused when I realized it did not support SACD format.
The BCD-1 is just a no-nonsense CD player. If you like to look at your equipment more than you like to listen to it, don't buy the BCD-1. The remote is Bryston's classic CNC-honed aluminum block, which lights up nicely in the dark and does double duty as a doorstop or paperweight.
Like Bryston's B100-DA integrated amplifier, the BCD-1 CD player connects me to those crucial elements of music: pace, rhythm, and emotion. It's so good that I no longer miss the KPS-28c, and that's a strong recommendation indeed.

A stunning unit and - regardless of some troll's self-absorbed, pseudo technical rubbish (an audiopile??) - the BCD-1 will beat any CD player near its price like a rented mule.
