My BCD-1 gets about 10 hr/week usage, a low number, and it's approaching its 5-year anniv this summer. So, a breakdown is not a big concern for me, esp as it is a Bryston. My primary source has been a BDP-1/BDA-1 combo. But for large CD box sets (that I don't bother ripping), I still enjoy BCD-1.

22 sty 2015 · #1. Hello again AudioKarma! This week, our music source at TARA Labs was in the form of a Bryston BCD-1. While fairly entry-level, this CD player definitely surpassed my expectations. The music was clean and transparent, with focused and engaging dynamics. However, I was a bit confused when I realized it did not support SACD format.
The BCD-1 is just a no-nonsense CD player. If you like to look at your equipment more than you like to listen to it, don't buy the BCD-1. The remote is Bryston's classic CNC-honed aluminum block, which lights up nicely in the dark and does double duty as a doorstop or paperweight.
22 sty 2015 · Ultimately, Bryston could not match the quality of a CD-dedicated system. However, the quality of the CD playback is excellent. I respect Bryston for not sacrificing quality for features. Anyone out there using Bryston products they recommend?
A stunning unit and - regardless of some troll's self-absorbed, pseudo technical rubbish (an audiopile??) - the BCD-1 will beat any CD player near its price like a rented mule.
