26 paź 2020 · New teachers starting out in Indiana can retire with their full benefits at: Age 55 with 30 years of service; Age 60 with 15 years of service; and, At age 65 with 10 years of service. Additionally, Indiana allows early retirement from age 50 to 59 once a teacher has 15 years of experience.
6 sty 2019 · In the past, we've graded states based on a number of factors, such as how long states require teachers to stay before qualifying for a benefit (aka the "vesting" period), how long teachers would need to stay to qualify for an adequate benefit, and whether the state is keeping its unfunded liabilities in check.

For teachers who work in the classroom for fewer than 10 years, 34 states receive an “F” for how well retirement plans prepare them for retirement. For teachers who work in the classroom for more than 10 years, but do not stay until retirement age, 23 states receive an “F” ranking.
The Teachers’ Retirement Fund (TRF) was created by the Indiana General Assembly in 1921. Members of TRF include teachers in a public school corporation, certain INPRS employees, and some employees in charter schools, innovation schools, turnaround schools, and public universities.
