British Athletics 2017-2024 Selection Philosophy. This document has been produced to outline the approach to selecting teams for Olympic programme competitions throughout the track and field pathway during the Tokyo and Paris cycles.
This selection policy (“the Policy”) outlines the process by which UK Athletics (“UKA”) will determine its nominations for Team GB at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games (“Games”) in track & field events. Athletes wishing to be selected for Road events should see the separate selection policy.
Athletes are selected onto the WCP to further the aim of British Athletics to win medals at the 2024 and/or 2028 Olympic Games; winning will always be achieved with integrity and in line with UK Sport’s ambition of ‘Keep Winning & Win Well’.
