10 mar 2022 · Essential tremor (ET) is the most common etiology of tremor, while hands tremor is the most disabling type of tremor. This study aimed to explore the effects of Botulinum toxin (BoNT) on tremor within 6 weeks of treatment, and the muscular weakness adverse effect within 6 weeks specifically in randomized controlled trials.
15 sie 2019 · Most upper limb tremor is composed of the following 4 main planes of movement that are readily treatable: forearm pronation–supination, wrist flexion–extension, shoulder internal–external rotation, and elbow flexion–extension (see Appendix 2).
10 mar 2022 · Regarding people with ET, BoNT significantly reduced their tremor severity, including hands tremor and head tremor within 6 weeks of treatment (SMD = −0.58, 95% CI, −0.28 to −0.88, p = 0.002, I2 = 0%).
One patient withdrew from the study due to unacceptable hand weakness (5[percnt]) with complete recovery within 3 months. CONCLUSIONS: This customized, blinded, EMG-guided injection study of incobotulinumtoxinA produced statistically significant improvement of tremor and patient satisfaction.
Botulinum Toxins, Type A. incobotulinumtoxinA. In this study, injection of IncoA treatment via a customized approach improved essential tremor on the clinical scales and patient's perception with a low occurrence of significant hand weakness.
