EV’s differ, as we have to work out the miles per KwH instead, there is no “gallon” equivalent in electric cars. Here are some examples of mpg and the cost per mile for each. From the tables above you can see that driving an EV is still more cost-effective than ICE, but for how long, we do not know.

Lower Fuel Costs. Unlike ICE vehicles, which rely on gasoline or diesel – both of which fluctuate in price – EVs run on electricity, which tend to be more stable in terms of price. With an EV, you’re looking at savings of around $0.08 mile compared to an ICE.

As illustrated in the chart above, petrol cars need almost five times more energy than electric cars to travel the same distance.
