11 paź 2019 · You'll need new belts, and getting into the valve adjustment is tedious work, so it tends to get expensive. I'd say for everything handled, you should be between $800 - $1200 depending on who's doing it and the level of quality in execution.
4 wrz 2016 · So for just the valve clearance service (no oil/filter change), but including plugs and air filter the cost is approx £650 sterling. I also need chain and sprockets, so the total will be about £840.

18 cze 2018 · The service schedule for a R1200RTW calls for valve clearance CHECKING every 20,000 km (12,400 mi). Valve clearance ADJUSTMENTs will depend on when (and if) the valves fall out of the specified clearance range found when doing that checking. There is no easy answer of when to perform adjustments.

Valve adjustment is expensive at a shop, because there's usually a lot of disassembling to do to actually get at the valves to adjust them. However, if you have a workshop manual, checking the valve clearances yourself isn't hard, you just need to follow the manual's steps closely and be methodical.
18 lip 2019 · The dealer occasionally gives me printed copies of the BMW service procedures. These are clear, simple, step-by-step instructions that the techs use. I'm headed there today and while there I will see if I can get a copy of the valve check/adjustment procedure.
